Off Topic but so IMPORTANT.... A Must Read

Here's one that the news affiliate don't even know about as of now that I found out today: Rick Scott our new Fla Governor has an entire list of "Governor's Recommendation" and number 8 is suggesting to completely eliminate the Home Care for Disabled Adults program!! This wonderful program has been in effect for over 25 years. Back in the beginning it only paid these giving souls taking care of their Disabled loved ones $92.00 a month. This program now pays the loved ones of the Disabled to take care of them and their needs for only $115.00 per month. In thousands of cases it's a 24/7/365 days a year job. And the Gov Scott wants to do away with it!!

These giving people are usually a spouse or a live in loved one who cooks, organizes and doles out meds, cleans, does laundry, etc for their loved one who cannot do it themselves! Already the Disabled has not received a cost of living increase in two years!! The reason you ask? Because they are saying that there has not been inflation in 2 years and therefore an increase cannot be given to the Disabled! Trust me, most Disabled people don't get enough money to do much with at all, some barely can pay their bills. In many cases what they receive for Disability is all they receive period per month. This $115.00 a month is so important to them - to buy food, help pay the rent/mortgage, utilities, etc. PLUS this will mean the loss of many jobs in Florida!! Even though Gov Scott said "Let's Get to Work" and create new jobs.

Gov Scott plans to take this to the State House and State Senate to vote on it! Please, please for the Disabled Citizens sake, go to www.myflorida.com and email your Legislator, your Senator, your Gov Rick Scott, anyone you think might take notice. Let's bombard them with emails telling them we won't stand for it.

Thank you for allowing me this venue to express this!

Baby Powder - Body Powders = Talc = not good

Baby Powder - Body Powders = Talc = not good

Happy New Year to everyone!

A quick note on the powders we put on our bodies everyday. Worse than that the powders we put on our babies and children every day. All over the counter powders contain talc or talcum powder. The thing you need to know is Talc is closely related to potent carcinogen asbestos. When I found out about that I threw all my powders away in my house. I only buy all natural body powders now. Oh... and also, you can find Talc in many products we use every day! Unfortunately, most people do not know this. I didn't until a couple months ago. But, we live, we learn and we do better.

Do the research, find out for yourselves about this. Here's an article to start you out from the Cancer Prevention Coalition regarding Talc: http://www.preventcancer.com/consumers/cosmetics/talc.htm.

I am so happy to be able to live in this day and time to be able to research these things with a click of the mouse. Otherwise, I would have never known about the stuff I was putting on my lips or the powders I was putting on my body.

Let's make it a wonderful year. Let's work toward cutting out these chemicals as best we can, a little at a time. It's good for us, it's good for our children and it's good for our earth.

Tree Hugger? Yes, quite possibly :0)

Lip Butter Balm

Hi there,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Mine was great! It was wonderful to see the entire family (in two days) this year. I'm very thankful for each and every one of them!

I'd like you to check out my new Lip Butter Balm. Right now I am offering it with an all natural SPF to protect those beautiful lips from the sun! I am also offering for the first time an unscented version for those who are allergic or don't care for scents. My shop has many items that are unscented for the same reason. My Lip Butter Balm is called "Lip Lover" and it is. The first time I used it the next morning I saw a big difference in my lips, they were smoother and softer. My hubby even said they are "more kissable", how bout that one! Pretty good, eh?!

My Lip Butter Balm has all natural ingredients in it and I have added 2 things most people don't add and that's Unrefined African Shea Butter which makes it more creamy and rich (I even use it over my lip stick color). And I now am adding Red Raspberry Seed Oil for a natural SPF. I can't give you a number on the SPF but it will certainly protect those precious puckers!

I also wanted to give you some important information regarding ALL Commercially made lip treatments (buyer be knowledgeable and buyer beware!):

Did you know that almost ALL commercially - made lip
treatments contain gasoline by-products? Isn't that a horrible thought? But it's true! Anything containing paraffin wax (ChapStick, Blistex), petrolatums (Carmex, ChapStick - 44%,Vaseline Lip Therapy ), or mineral oil (ChapStick, Blistex) means you are putting LEFTOVERS from the production of gasoline on your lips.

With my Lip Lover comes in several different scents and the best buy is when you purchase the three pack. Go check it out: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SimpleOrganicBeauty and Here's the Super Value of three pack: http://www.etsy.com/listing/45536078/super-value-chapped-summer-lips-w-spf

This first blog back is about: What is Organic for the Body All About?

It's for optimal health for your skin. Organic Skin Care Products for a healthier you is why. Look for made with 100% certified plant extracts. You want extracts that are not from animals and that are not tested on animals. You want Organically grown plants. And be sure to look and see that what you are getting has: No Parabens, No Artificial Colorants, No Synthetic Fragrances, No Petroleum, No Sulphates, No Preservatives, No Animal Testing. And be sure they are Gluten Free and that they are Vegetarian.

Always remember: Taking care of ourselves by starting to be conscious and thoughtful about the products we use and the food we take in.

It has been said that Health brings Wealth!

So IF We Are What We Eat Then We are also...

So IF We Are What We Eat Then We are also what we put on our largest organ our SKIN. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING we put on our skin goes into our system. From the water in our tubs and showers as well as the water we swim in the summer. We should really try to be cognisant of this fact.

Think about the water you put into your mouth to quench your thirst, you want it to be as free as possible of chemicals and toxins, true? So, it might be time to think about researching shower water filters. I recently put one in the kitchen after doing my homework and I found that Aquasana seemed to be the best buy and filtered out more impurities than some of the other more advertised water filtration systems. It was ranked #1 along side the others. Along with a filtration purchase they send along a free Aquasana® glass decanter, nice to keep in the fridge for ice cold, delicious water. I really like the idea of a glass decanter as I've been reading about the hazards of drinking out of plastic.

This water filtration for the kitchen faucet is extremely simple to install either under the sink out of view or on your counter top and the absolute best thing is the cost per gallon is only $.08. Totally worth it. The water tastes so good that I find myself drinking more water every day. That's a good thing because hardly anyone, including myself drinks enough of it. It really tastes great, very fresh and clean. I love the shower filter as well.

This is just another way we can keep our skin healthy and happy :) As one company puts it, "Love the Skin you're in".
